“This song is about that moment when you feel stuck in winter’s frost—both literally and figuratively. But then, the first rays of the sun break through, and you realize—spring is approaching,” says Agnese. “Sometimes, you have to push spring forward yourself to make it come.”

“Tuvāk pavasarim” marks a special milestone in Agnese’s musical journey, as it is her first self-produced song. The song’s initial sketch was created three years ago when she decided to develop her skills in sound design and music production. “This song is not only a personal story but also a challenge for me—to become the master of my own sound,” Agnese reveals. The final sound of the song was polished by Armands Varslavāns, who handled the mixing and mastering.

The single “Tuvāk pavasarim” combines natural sounds with a synesthetic approach to music, creating a rich and immersive atmosphere. The composition includes self-recorded foley elements—water droplets, the sound of melting snow, various rhythmic patterns made with twigs and branches, and birdsong recorded on a spring morning last year. “These elements of nature give the song an organic feel, allowing listeners to immerse themselves in a living, breathing soundscape,” Agnese explains. The song also features Irish whistles (tin whistle and low whistle), adding a flowing and magical mood to the composition.

The single “Tuvāk pavasarim” is a prelude to Agnese’s upcoming album, set to be released in May. “It will be a collection of feminine stories spanning all seasons and times of day—from a spring morning to a winter night. The album will feature a wide range of emotions—from delicate tenderness and meditative calmness to cosmic passion and almost hysterical despair,” the artist reveals.
