Aminata shares:
“‘Liela meitene’ is my journey — both as a woman and as an artist. This album is a story of growth, inner courage, and acceptance. While writing it, I set no limits or censorship for myself — I allowed all my feelings and experiences to flow freely. After finishing this album, I feel that everything I wanted to say has finally been said.”

Aminata also presents the album’s leading single “Liela meitene”, accompanied by an emotionally powerful music videodirected by Kristaps Deičs, filmed by Anatoly Prokopenko, and produced by Elizabete Šukste. The video reflects the artist’s inner reflections and experiences, symbolically visualizing the journey from darkness to light — a central theme that runs throughout the album.

The roots of the album can be traced back to a 2022 songwriting camp, where Aminata, ansis, and Kristaps Ērgliscreated the song “Liela meitene”. This track later became the core of the album’s story and inspired its title.

“At first, I felt that the term ‘big girl’ didn’t really suit me. But soon I realized it symbolized the beginning of a new chapter, and the events in my life only confirmed that this title truly belongs to me,” says the artist.

The album was created in close collaboration with JJ Lush (Jānis Jačmenkins), DJ Rudd (Rūdolfs Budze), Kristaps Ērglis, ansis, and Zeļģis, featuring contributions from Kaspars Vizulis, Toms Kursītis, and the Riga Red Choir. The visual identity was developed by Kristaps Deičs, Jānis Jēkabsons, and Elizabete Ezergaile.

Aminata is currently preparing for her grand concert “Liela meitene”, which will take place on November 1 at the Palladium concert hall. The artist and her team are working on the stage design, choreography, and other surprises to let the audience experience Aminata’s musical world in a completely new light.
