Arturs Gruzdiņš Releases a Single Dedicated to the Family Support Organization "Brīnummāja" in Cēsis

On January 17, 2025, Arturs Gruzdiņš released the song “Ver logu plašāk (Brīnummājā).” This song was created in collaboration with the public benefit organization "Brīnummāja" in Cēsis, which has been supporting families and children in their intellectual, emotional, social, and physical development for ten years, also providing social rehabilitation services for children with special needs.

At the end of 2024, “Brīnummāja” celebrated its 10th anniversary with friends and supporters, culminating in the surprise premiere of the song "Ver logu plašāk (Brīnummājā).” "We wanted to give a gift that inspires and makes everyone feel part of the miracle that helps each child take a step further in their development. Arturs’ songs bring sparkle to both children’s and adults’ eyes; they radiate joy and self-belief, so we knew without a doubt that Arturs would strike the right chord,” said Liena Graudule, head of “Brīnummāja,” about the decision to collaborate with Arturs.

The song was inspired by the story of "Brīnummāja," which, since 2014, has intertwined with over 700 families from Vidzeme and other regions. Currently, 160 families use the services of "Brīnummāja," with specialists providing nearly 500 services per month.
The lyrics of the song were inspired by a poem written by Gita Jonase, who runs Montessori classes and is also on the board of "Brīnummāja." "The poem was inspired by the children I work with, who fill my daily work with smiles, wonder-struck faces, and small victories,” shared Gita Jonase about the origin of the song’s lyrics.

The song was recorded in December 2024 in Riga, with Katrīna Altenburga, a singer from the Riga Dome Choir School Gospel Choir and a lead actress in the Daile Theater production “Meža Gulbji,” participating in the recording. "The song starts with a lyrical introduction and ends with a loud bang, all woven through with a gentle melody," commented Arturs on the song’s creation process. "This is exactly how I envision the work at 'Brīnummāja' – initially, parents and children come timidly, but as they settle in, they receive a powerful burst of knowledge, healthy emotions, and noticeable results, all threaded through careful work."

The song symbolically heralds the start of the second decade for "Brīnummāja," with plans outlined by L. Graudule: "As a public benefit organization, we will continue the path we have started to improve support approaches for the successful development of children, collaborating with municipalities and encouraging long-term solutions at the state level. We will continue to highlight the needs of these families, so that as a society, we become more accepting and co-responsible for every child’s well-being. We will also continue to attract funding through social projects and donations. For the second year, all donations are directed to child support programs, allowing children with functional impairments and disabilities to continue their much-needed rehabilitation and attend necessary classes and therapies."

Each of us can be part of a child’s smile of success! You can support the continuation of child rehabilitation by making a donation through the Mobilly app, selecting the "Brīnummāja" support program under Donations, or by transferring funds to the donation account: Association “Brīnummāja” (Reg. No. 4000 8231 867, SEB Bank, donation account LV75UNLA0050023949868).

During the celebrations, parents also shared their emotions about "Brīnummāja." Here is one of them: “It’s a place where we were accepted as we are, where we were believed in. We ourselves couldn’t even imagine that we could ever do what we can today.” "Behind every family’s experience story, there is a lot of work, sometimes over several years, for a child to achieve things that come effortlessly to their peers. This journey requires immense strength and patience from the family. It can only be achieved with consistent and professional support, funding that allows this support to be implemented long-term, and community involvement,” concluded Liena Graudule after ten years of work in promoting children’s development.
