The artist refers to their musical style as "Ouija-pop," a self-coined term meant to describe a fusion of various music genres, which Bambie Thug says adds a unique, art-like quality to their music, allowing it to exist beyond predefined boundaries.
In their performances, they continue what they began with their early music videos – using provocation to challenge sociopolitical stereotypes and confronting more conservative audiences with shocking shows. Robinson identifies as non-binary and is actively involved in the LGBTQ+ scene, declaring the famous song "Doomsday Blue" as an anthem for the queer community while crowning themselves a witch.
In January 2024, Bambie Thug was one of the contenders in Ireland’s national Eurovision selection with the song "Doomsday Blue". They quickly gained audience support, winning both the public and jury votes convincingly. After the selection results, two camps emerged among Irish Eurovision fans: while supporters chanted "Send the witch!", the opposing camp gathered thousands of signatures in a petition calling for the artist’s disqualification and for another song to be chosen for the contest.
Among Bambie Thug's supporters was multiple-time Eurovision winner Johnny Logan, who saw potential in the song and encouraged the Irish people to support the artist. They later placed 6th in the Eurovision final, which is Ireland's best result in the last 24 years.
