"Wormwood (Get away from me) is a song about magic and about cleansing yourself and your space — both physically and internally. Its source of inspiration is the wormwood plant, which I came to know in a completely new light as a powerful natural ally. Working with it, I’ve experienced deep inner processes. This experience helped me see and release limiting thoughts, habits, and emotions that hinder growth.

I know the topic of magical herbs might not be understandable or acceptable to everyone, but one of the most important realizations I've had is the ability to let go of control and the need to meet others’ expectations. I hope and wish that by listening to the lyrics and tuning into your own feelings afterward, everyone can reflect — even a little — on what might be worth letting go of in order to move closer to their highest potential,*” says Būū.

The song “Wormwood (Get away from me)” was created this year while Būū spent the winter in Australia and Bali, where the sun's energy, new experiences, and inspiration breathed new life into her creative process. She intentionally chose this environment as the backdrop for writing new music, traveling with a small, mobile recording studio that allowed her to keep working while abroad. This period brought new quality to the process, and Būū promises to share even more new material in the coming months.

"Wormwood (Get away from me) is my second single in English. People often ask me why I’ve started expressing myself musically this way, and honestly, I don’t have one clear answer. I’m simply going with what feels true and alive right now.

At this moment, English gives me more freedom to experiment with sound and emotion, and I allow myself to explore it,*” Būū continues.

Būū is a singer, producer, songwriter, and content creator who blends various genres in her music, including afro beats, rap, pop, and R’n’B. Her lyrics emphasize love for nature, emotional intelligence, the promotion of equality, and the healing of both personal and collective trauma. She gained broader public attention with her singles “Siekala”, “Sāku no sākuma”, and “Kur ir mana cilts”, as well as with her debut album Albūūms (2021), which received several awards from the Latvian music industry. Since then, she has released two studio albums, actively performed across Latvia, and collaborated with artists such as Instrumenti, Aminata, and Prāta Vētra.
