“Tuvums was created around my favorite theme – human relationships. You don’t always have to be physically close to feel closeness; it can appear in memories, emotions, or thoughts. Sometimes it feels like nothing is more valuable than another person’s presence—especially when it seems like the whole world is falling apart. Then, that support can be felt even in your mind,” Dons shares.
The song was written by Artūrs Šingirejs and DJ Rudd.
The “Tuvums” music video was directed by Matīss Spaile, produced by Nikola Dita Namniece, and filmed at the “Mūsa Raceland” track. Special thanks go to Māris Neikšāns, Jānis Bergs, and Mārtiņš Sesks, as well as BB Rental for technical support.

“When I first heard Tuvums, I felt that behind its calm nature hides a deeply personal story. When I met with Dons, we discussed three different ideas for the video — he chose the boldest one, and I’m really happy he did. In recent years, I’ve worked mostly on sports films, so it was fascinating to bring a motorsport element into such an emotional piece. Maybe this slightly wild idea is what inspired the whole filming team — everyone did an amazing job making it look exactly as it does now,” says music video director Matīss Spaile.

Next year promises to be especially significant for Dons’ fans, as it will bring not only his tenth studio album “Tuvums”but also a grand concert of the same name at Daugava Stadium on August 15. The concert “Tuvums” will feature both beloved classics and new songs, creating a powerful sense of togetherness and celebration.

Dons is one of Latvia’s most experienced and beloved contemporary artists. He has released nine solo albums and received numerous music awards. In 2024, Dons represented Latvia at the Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Hollow”, finishing in 16th place in the final show.
