Rapper Serpentīns adds:
 “This song immediately resonated with me – the words ‘Want to outdo yourself’ have haunted me for at least a decade, so I knew exactly what I wanted to say. In my verse, I emphasize that everyone wants to outdo themselves, but without balance it can quickly turn into an obsession and trap you in a hamster wheel with no results. I hope this can serve as a small piece of advice for young musicians and a reminder for experienced ones.”

About the collaboration with Serpentīns, Ēriks says: 
“I had long thought of Serpentīns as a great rapper I’d like to collaborate with someday. And finally, the moment came. I’m glad we connected quickly, found common ground on the message of the song, and managed to achieve the result.”

Serpentīns continues: 
“Working with the EMBARK guys, Ēriks and Matīss, was very interesting, fun, and productive. We found effortless chemistry, which for me is the most important thing when collaborating with other musicians. Since this was my first time working with a band, the format pushed me out of my comfort zone, so I had to try to outdo myself too.”

EMBARK is an indie rock band from Riga that brings energy to their concerts and gets both audiences – and even your cousin – moving. The band consists of cousins Ēriks Gorda and Matīss Priedols. EMBARK has released several singles and music videos, as well as their debut album “Kā šis vispār bija jāsaprot?” in 2022. This autumn, they are set to release a new EP with a fresh sound, marking a new stage in their creative journey.
