The track is accompanied by a music video directed by Fiņķis himself — his first directorial effort. Visually rich, symbolic, and playful, the video offers a vibrant take on a simple but powerful message: enjoy life. Among the characters in the clip are dancers from the exotic dance center Alegria.
“As a society, we need to stay open to one another. I love people, and I love humanity. We all have such big hearts. I want everyone to have the chance to enjoy life!” Fiņķis shares. “Special thanks go to cinematographer Mārtiņš Kivlinieks, who essentially served as my co-director, and to Aivars Dambis, who worked both as my assistant and artistic director. Without these legendary men, the result wouldn’t be what it is today.”

The song “Maize” had its debut during the GAMMA Awards ceremony and was created during a songwriting camp in Vestiena. “My main inspiration was the phrase: ‘a good idea only needs one second,’” Fiņķis explains. The song was recorded in a single take with Fiņķis’ full band: Andris Strazds (guitar), Krišjānis Bremšs (drums), Kristaps Ērglis (bass), Elza Kaktiņa (synths), and Julianna Tīruma and Madara Gaile (backing vocals).
This summer, Fiņķis and his band are scheduled to perform at several concerts, including:
July 5 – Straume Festival with F4
July 12 – Engure
July 25 – Saldus Saule Festival
August 1 – Summer Sound Festival
August 9 – Positivus Festival
