“This song reflects a personal and current process I’ve been going through. It embodies the internal dilemmas of balancing youthful playfulness and not losing the joy of life from my inner child, while at the same time realizing that it's time to think about stability, maturity, building a family, and stepping away from a reckless, carefree attitude toward life," says Justs. The song was written a few years ago while Justs was studying music production in Bristol, UK.
In "Atslēdziņas," Justs is joined by TIKASHA SAKAMA, the stage name of the vibrant media personality Nansija Garkalne. Justs and Nansija are best friends and each other's closest confidants. For this reason, Justs shared the draft version of the song with Nansija, which led to her joining him in the studio. Earlier this year, Nansija gained wider recognition after winning the TV3 show "Balss maskā" ("Masked Singer"), where she showcased her musical talent. Now, she makes her debut with her stage name TIKASHA SAKAMA in this song.
The music video for “Atslēdziņas” was created by director Toms Harjo, producer Dominiks Jarmakovičs, and cinematographer Ritvars Bluka. In the video, viewers will see two versions of Justs – both his younger and adult selves.
