"The song is coming out during Valentine's week when love is in the air, but the pains of love also become relevant. That’s why, with this song, I want to help people feel good even in those moments when something inside feels broken," says Katrīna Dimanta, also revealing that newly-in-love couples perceive "Ej prom" as playful flirtation.

The song follows a pop-folk style, forming a duet between Katrīna's voice and the ukulele. The music and lyrics are written by Katrīna Dimanta.

The music video includes footage from a children's folklore camp in Viļķene in 2002, where Katrīna and Krišjānis reenacted one of the Latvian traditions – life celebrations or weddings.
