“The first wave – in the very middle of winter – promises a warm, acoustically gentle sound, something like melancholic euphoria, both musically and emotionally. It is music that approaches gradually, like a calm impulse before something greater,” says songwriter and composer Linda Leen about what’s to come.
“Total Affection” was created together with musicians Miķelis Putniņš (guitar), Rūdolfs Dankfelds (percussion), and Kristiāns Priekulis (bass) at “Alejas” studio near Cēsis, where the creative process and recording of the entire album took place.
“This song was recorded during a quiet and unhurried winter – the first one we truly experienced this year,” adds guitarist Miķelis Putniņš.

The song’s sound design was created in Margate in collaboration with UK producer Christopher Harris, known to Latvian audiences for his work with Chris Noah and the band “Kautkaili.” The song is available on major music streaming platforms.
In February, Linda Leen invites listeners to three live concerts where the first wave of the Waves trilogy will be performed for the first time, along with the artist’s beloved original songs: on February 1 at 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM at the art center “Zuzeum,” and on February 14 at 7:00 PM at Vidzeme Concert Hall “Cēsis.”
