“Sometimes we feel lost because of the things or circumstances around us. But the truth is simple — only we ourselves can take control of our lives. I hope that each person finds the strength to build their own house of cards — in their own way, shape, and meaning — and to live their best life,” shares Niklāss.
A Boy was created in collaboration with producers Edgars Vilcāns and Roadchanger, who helped shape Niklāss’s vision into a track that reflects his emotional state and passes that feeling on to listeners. The music video was directed by artist Evelīna Zvirbule.

“Working with Niklāss was creatively inspiring. The song is very different from typical pop tracks. Its creative flight wasn’t limited by standard formulas, so arranging it was both a big challenge and a great pleasure,” says Vilcāns, emphasizing that the process was smooth, pleasant, and filled with everyday conversations about real, human topics.
Niklāss himself admits: “I’m a storyteller, and music is my language of expression.” He began writing music five years ago, at the age of 20. To date, he has released three songs, but as he laughs — a bookshelf filled with unreleased lyrics and songs is still waiting for the right moment. “A Boy” is an invitation for listeners to look within themselves and find something personal in the song that resonates with them — and to keep moving toward their dreams.
After winning Ghetto Faktors, Niklāss began working purposefully toward the release of “A Boy” — while also finding time to join a new musical challenge: the TV show “Koru Kari”. Every Sunday evening, people can now watch the young artist as a member of Talsu White choir, led by Markus Riva, on TV3. Out of the ten choirs, Talsu White choir has reached the top four and continues competing for the win this week.
