"We had already started working on other cover songs and will definitely release some of them. However, visiting the museum and listening to 'Mixeri's' music made us realize that 'Esi reāls' had to be the first cover we release. In our opinion, the lyrics of the song are still relevant today," continues Rihards Bērziņš.
"At a time when technology is being used more and developing rapidly, it is important to stay real. We should not be afraid to use it, as technology can help and make daily life easier. However, we must remember that the hours spent on a smart device cannot replace the time we can spend with family and friends," say the musicians.
"Esi reāls" was "Mixeri"'s debut song, released in 1997. At that time, the young men's group "Mixeri" was formed by members of the dance group from "100 debija". Later that year, the band released their debut album of the same name – "Esi reāls".
In 1999, "Mixeri" released their second album, "Neaizliedz sev neko", which won the Latvian Music Record of the Year Award in the "Best Dance Album" category.
"Mixeri" ended their joint musical career in September 2000 with a final concert in Alūksne. Last year, "Mixeri" reunited for several concerts.
