“However, when we part ways and learn to be alone again, we often realize that this love was, in fact, beautiful, empowering, and inspiring. I want us all to remember, in those painful moments, that only by going through difficulties and learning from our experiences and each other can we make love stronger, deeper, and give even more to one another. Love knows how to bite!” Patrisha adds.
The music for “Nav bail” was written by Patrisha, Kim Wennerstrom, and Duncan Townsend, while the lyrics were penned by Patrisha. The single was produced by Kim W. and was written last summer when Patrisha traveled to Berlin to collaborate with producer Kim Wennerstrom. Together, they have previously worked on tracks like “Patrisha bija šeit” (Patrisha Was Here), “Lai tev sāp” (Let It Hurt), and others.
“Working with Kim has always been easy—we think alike and share the same vision for how a song should sound and what message it should carry. When we began working on a new song in Berlin last year, our goal was to create something that would be relatable to everyone, both in its story and its emotional feel. During the creation of the English version, we were joined by British songwriter and musician Duncan Townsend. The collaboration between the three of us was smooth and productive, and we plan to continue working together in the future. This year, I decided to record the song in Latvian as well,” Patrisha shares.
A music video for “Nav bail” has also been created, directed by Reinis Ūbelis and his team.
According to the director, during his first meeting with Patrisha to discuss the concept of the video, she expressed a desire to create something authentic. “Together, we aimed to achieve this not only through realistic settings and characters but also through symbolism and editing, which reflects the inner world of the woman Patrisha portrays,” says Reinis Ūbelis.
