Band PĖRLE and Olga Rajecka Release a New Version of the Song “Ar baltu krītu uzrakstīts”

On August 14, electro indie pop band PĖRLE, in collaboration with singer Olga Rajecka, released a new single “Ar baltu krītu uzrakstīts” — a modern version of the song that Olga originally performed together with Mārtiņš Freimanis.

The idea to refresh the song and give it a new sound came when Olga Rajecka and PĖRLE performed together in a joint concert. This creative collaboration became the foundation for a new, electronically-influenced version that gives the song a completely fresh sound.

PĖRLE, previously known as Mother of Pearl, is now exploring a new musical phase, combining modern electronic sounds with indie pop elements.

The band members are: Didzis Melderis – vocals, Armands Varslavāns – guitar, Eduards Zagainovs-Veinbrants – bass guitar, and Matīss Uškāns – drums.

“This song is very close to me, so I want it to continue living and to be discovered by younger generations. I am happy about this collaboration with young and promising musicians who can look at the song from a different perspective and give it new colors,” says Olga Rajecka about the collaboration.

PĖRLE’s members also emphasize the experimental side of the song’s new sound:
“We wanted to give the song a different atmosphere, combining electronic elements with afro house rhythms to make the sound contemporary and fresh. We hope listeners will experience this version as a positive and refreshing listening experience.”

The new arrangement was created by PĖRLE, with sound processing by Armands Varslavāns.
