The Baltic Phygital Sports Association invites you to unique competitions combining digital and physical sport

The Baltic Phygital Sports Association, which operates within the “World Phygital Community (WPC)”, is organizing unique sports competitions on November 29, 2025, taking place in Latvia, Riga, at the Team Sports Games Hall.

Phygital is a term that combines both experiences and represents the future of sports as known in today’s society. This is the first event of this format in the Baltics, incorporating both physical and digital sports competition experience, and participation as well as attendance is free of charge.

“We want to attract a new, technology-driven and enthusiastic audience, be pioneers in the development of phygital sports in the Baltics, and promote a community of athletes, players, and fans by connecting the Baltics with the global sports innovation movement,” comments the Baltic Phygital Sports Association.

Currently, the World Phygital Community oversees four main sports disciplines: phygital football, phygital basketball, phygital dancing, and phygital shooting. However, there are also other exciting disciplines, such as phygital hockey, phygital martial arts, and more. Thanks to these hybrid activities, game guidelines have been developed for each of the mentioned phygital sports disciplines.

Athletes start each phygital discipline with a quick video game, and then move on to a real-time match against the same players and teams in traditional sports. The winner is determined by the combined result of both rounds, so the ability to react quickly and intuitively is required in both conditions. For example, in phygital football, traditional football as known to society is combined with football competitions in a virtual environment.

“Players compete against each other in the virtual environment before going onto the field to play physically — it is a combination of sports and e-sports elements,” says the Baltic Phygital Sports Association.

Similar guidelines exist for other phygital sports disciplines. In phygital basketball, for example, the goal is to score as many points as possible both in the basketball simulator and in the physical discipline, competing for the highest total score.

Such events take place in more than 26 countries, and the Baltic Phygital Sports Association is enthusiastically the first to introduce a phygital sports event in Latvia. Team and individual sports disciplines are planned, and the goal is to complete both digital stages and physical activities. In Latvia, there will be an opportunity to participate in phygital football and phygital dance competitions — a unique experience combining e-sports strategy with real physical challenges.
