Supernova 2025: Semifinalists Revealed for LTV Song Contest

The jury has selected 20 participants for the semifinals of the Latvian Television (LTV) song contest "Supernova." On February 1, 2025, these contestants will compete for a spot in the national selection final for Eurovision. The winner of the contest, determined by a jury and viewers during the final vote on February 8, will have the opportunity to represent Latvia at the international Eurovision Song Contest in Basel, Switzerland, in May.

During the "Supernova" semifinals, viewers will get to know the participants and watch live performances of their songs. In the final, they will have the chance to choose the contest winner. The roles of both viewers and the jury will be equally significant in both the semifinals and the final, with the best contestants determined by a combined total of viewers’ calls, text votes, and the jury's evaluation.

The selection of songs and performers for the semifinals was made by an LTV-appointed jury comprising representatives from Latvia's music industry, events sector, and television, as well as international professionals. The contest winner, chosen by the jury and viewers during the final vote on February 8, will gain the opportunity to represent Latvia at the Eurovision Song Contest in Basel, Switzerland, in May. For security reasons, the names of the LTV jury members will be revealed only after the international Eurovision Song Contest in May.
