In true “Very Cool People” tradition, a music video was also created for “Nevērp prātu”, starring legendary Liepāja actors Inese Kučinska-Laukšteine and Herberts Laukšteins. The video was directed by Elvis Lācis, with whom the band had already collaborated on the videos for their previous singles “Pasaulīte” and “Līdzsvarā”.
“We’ve known Inese and Herberts for quite a long time,” says Elvijs. “When director Elvis told us his idea, somehow I immediately thought of these two wonderfully crazy Liepāja folks, but I wasn’t really sure if they would agree. When they did, I knew right away that everything would be super!”
“For all of us in the band, shooting the video turned into a real acting masterclass,” continues “Very Cool People” keyboardist Māris Vitkus, who is a great theater enthusiast and attends almost every available play. “It was amazing to see how they both ‘entered’ their roles and simply executed everything perfectly!”

The lyrics and music for the new song were written by the band’s saxophonist Kristaps Lubovs, with the arrangement created together with Elvijs Grafcovs and Jānis Kalve. It was recorded at “Very Cool Studios”, “Ciemupes Production”, and “Labo ierakstu studija”, and produced by Elvijs Grafcovs, Kristaps Lubovs, and Jānis Kalve. The recording features vocalist Daniela Mase and the band’s core lineup: trombonist and vocalist Laura Rozenberga, guitarist Elvijs Grafcovs, trumpeter Oskars Ozoliņš, tenor saxophonist Māris Jēkabsons, baritone saxophonist Kristaps Lubovs, keyboardists Māris Vitkus and Andris Kauliņš, bassist Jānis Olekšs, and drummer Andris Buiķis.
This year the band has already released four singles – the radio hits “Pasaulīte” with Žoržs Siksna and rapper Ozols, and “Līdzsvarā” with Daniela Mase and Edavārdi, as well as two “live” recordings with Daniela Mase: “You Make Me Feel Like a Natural Woman” and “God’s Gonna Cut You Down”.
The single “Nevērp prātu” can already be heard on top radio stations and streamed on major music services online.
