"The message of this song is more relevant than ever," explains Žoržs Siksna. "The world is changing at a hyper-fast pace right now, and we must somehow keep up with it..."
The single is accompanied by a music video directed by Elvis Lācis and Ģirts Rozentāls (aka Ozols), who also plays one of the main roles. The video is an action-packed thriller set in the 1970s, featuring a "wise-ass" character speculating with the fictional national currency of Žorlandia, "Žorldāri." This is a nod to the era when goods from the Eastern Bloc countries were illegally sold in this region—like stylish sneakers from Czechoslovakia or gemstone rings that attracted wealthier buyers with plenty of desirable "Žorldollars" at their disposal. The music video creators openly admit their inspiration comes from, as they call it, "Latvia’s treasure"—the cult film The Foundation of Criminal Excellence, as well as the legendary works of Quentin Tarantino and Martin Scorsese. The video features not only the song's creators but also other talented musicians.

The song was originally written by Raimonds Pauls with lyrics by Leon Briedis. Ģirts Rozentāls (Ozols) has now added his own lines to the text. The new arrangement was created by Elvijs Grafcovs and Māris Jēkabsons, with Elvijs and Jānis Kalve as studio producers.
The recording features all members of Very Cool People: trombonist Laura Rozenberga, trumpeter Oskars Ozoliņš, tenor saxophonist Māris Jēkabsons, baritone saxophonist Kristaps Lubovs, keyboardists Māris Vitkus and Andris Kauliņš, bassist Jānis Olekšs, drummer Andris Buiķis, and, of course, the group's leader and guitarist Elvijs Grafcovs, who also played some synthesizer and bass parts. Unusually for him, he even provided backing vocals for the song, greatly supported by promising backing vocalist Daniela Viktorija Mase, with whom the group has big future plans. However, the stars of the new version of “Pasaulīte” are, of course, Žoržs Siksna and Ozols.
This is the group’s first single of 2025, but it’s already clear that it’s just the beginning of another fruitful musical year. The group hints that there are many more surprises and collaborations with other great guest artists to come. For now, however, the spotlight is fully on two super-legends of Latvian music from different generations—singer Žoržs Siksna and rapper Ozols, whose collaborative rendition of “Pasaulīte” is ready to be caught both on the airwaves of the best radio stations and in the streams of online music services.
