This Saturday, February 15th, the two nominees for the "GAMMA" New Music Industry Award for "Best New Artist or Band" – "YŪT" and the duo "Vēstulēs" (Marta Krampe and Braiens Martinsons) – will start their first joint concert tour.
They will offer listeners a chance to explore the different, yet equally exciting musical stories of both bands in four unique concerts:
February 15th at "FonoKlubs" in Cēsis
February 22nd at "Pegaza Pagalmā" in Liepāja
February 28th at "Melno Cepurīšu balerija" in Jelgava
March 7th at "M/Darbnīca" in Riga
The duo "Vēstulēs" musicians Marta and Braiens say: "It's hard to believe that only a year has passed since the release of our first song, and we're already preparing for a tour! These four corners of Latvia, which were once travel destinations, will now resonate in our and our friends' 'YŪT' colors – it's unreal!"
"It’s going to be an amazing night with a bit of electronics, acoustic ballads, and energy," they add.
"We're really excited about the collaboration and the upcoming tour with the band 'Vēstulēs,'" shares Emīls, the lead singer of "YŪT." "The first time we saw them perform at 'Supernova', we didn't think we’d be sharing the stage so soon."
The band "YŪT" consists of Emīls Deivids Zučiks and Matīss Jānis Berzinskis. So far, their music has been described as easily accessible pop music, blending contemporary sounds with cheerful energy.
Last year, on March 27th, "YŪT" debuted in Latvian music with the song "Tuvu", which was recognized as one of the most valuable songs in Latvian Radio 2's "Muzikālās bankas 2024", securing an impressive 8th place, and also received a nomination for the highest contemporary music award in Latvia, "GAMMA", in the category of "Song of the Year." "YŪT" is also nominated for "Best New Artist or Band" at the "GAMMA" awards.
