On Monday, December 16, from 14:00 to 16:00, music enthusiasts will have the opportunity to follow the announcement of the nominees for the "Zelta Mikrofons" music awards.
A total of 136 albums, 92 songs, 81 music videos, 47 debut records, 32 designs, and 11 concert recordings were submitted for evaluation. During the event, the top five nominees in 16 categories will be revealed, covering various genres of albums, as well as specific categories such as "Music Video of the Year", "Song of the Year", "Debut of the Year", and "Concert Recording Video of the Year".

“The celebration begins now and continues until the awards ceremony on January 18th! The nominee lists reflect the current and best in Latvian music, according to the expert jury’s assessment,” says Elita Mīlgrāve, board member of the Latvian Sound Recording Producers, Publishers, and Distributors Association (LaMPA).

The nominee announcement event will be hosted by Lauris Zalāns, the personality of "Radio TEV", and will feature surprise musical performances. The event's sponsors, electronics and household appliance stores "Euronics", have prepared special gifts for the musicians nominated in the "Best Debut Album" category. "We want to support young musicians by giving them useful technology sets that will assist with creativity and mobility, making life more convenient," says Līva Jaudzeme, marketing manager for "Euronics" in Latvia, who will open the debut category.

The event can be followed on the "Zelta Mikrofons" Facebook page, as well as on "TV3 Play" and tv3.lv.

This year, for the first time, the announcement of the nominees for the Latvian Music Recording Annual Awards "Zelta Mikrofons 2025" will be complemented by a conference dedicated to the music industry and exports, "Music Lab". The conference will start at 10:30 with a discussion on the success stories of Latvian music product exports, followed by "speed-dating" sessions with the "Zelta Mikrofons 2025" jury members, where musicians will have the opportunity to get answers to their questions and learn more about the evaluation criteria. A discussion on Sweden’s music export will follow, and after the nominee announcement, the conference will conclude with a discussion on the challenges posed by artificial intelligence in the context of creative industries.

The event will take place at the music and education platform "Zvaigznājs" located at Tēraudlietuves Street 22, Riga. It can be accessed by tram No. 11, bus No. 9, or train to the Brasas station.

The "Zelta Mikrofons 2025" award ceremony will take place on January 18, 2025, at the National Theatre of Latvia, and it will be broadcast live on TV3.
